Wisconsin cheesemakers break ‘world’s largest cheeseboard’ record

Madison (WKOW) — Organizers say they’ve broken the record for largest cheese board in the world with a total of 4,437.63 pounds of cheese.

Wisconsin cheesemakers from across the state came together to build the world’s largest cheese board on Main and King streets. Visitors could sample the cheeses.

"So Guinness World Records has many rules and one of the rules is that all of the cheese has to be consumed, so when the first 2,000 people come through, they will actually get a pre-plated cheese board," said Suzanne Fanning, VP of Marketing Communications with Dairy Farmers of Wisconsin.

The cheese board was 35 feet long by 7 feet wide. After the record was donated to the Second Harvest Foodbank of Southern Wisconsin.
