Birch Street Ace Hardware reopens under new ownership

Eau Claire (WQOW) – A familiar store is open again, under a familiar name.

The Ace Hardware store on Birch Street in Eau Claire is open once again, but this time the name "Jacobson’s" is on the building. That’s because Joel Jacobson, who also owns both Ace Hardware stores in Chippewa Falls, purchased the building back in May. Wednesday was the first day reopen.

Jacobson told News 18 he’s not worried about being a "smaller" competitor in the market.

"We’re here to help any customer that comes in the door," Jacobson said "We don’t just point to an aisle and send somebody that way, we go with them, we talk with them about their project, offer them advice if they need it, and also just be the hometown hardware store."

Jacobson also said he has very high hopes for the store, and is excited to serve the Eau Claire community.

The Birch Street location will be open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday – Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
