Eaux Claires Music Festival begins with spectators from around the world

Eau Claire (WQOW)- This year was a little different for those attending the Eaux Claires festival, because the lineup was left a mystery. That didn’t matter to Shane Foster from Montana. He was the first person in line at 10 a.m. excited to get the festival started.

"This show is like coming to church, it’s just a religious experience, listening to these awesome bands and the setting, this place is just beautiful," said Foster.

The lack of a lineup also did not deter Mckenzie Gray, from Texas, from attending her third-straight festival.

"Since the first time we came we’ve been dedicated and so not knowing the lineup didn’t change it for us. We love Eaux Claires, and we love coming to the festival so we knew it would be good no matter what," said Gray.

Some fans even had enough faith in the music that they made their way here all the way from Germany.

"I decided to come with my friends from the big lake, and just decided to celebrate the summer with the American people to have this beautiful festival," said Annchristin Lugert.

The uncertainty had at least one fest-goer, from Kentucky feeling a little anxious.

"The past few years I’ve been here it’s been such a good experience, and I know that Justin and Aaron have a great vision for this festival and so I sort of trust that it’s going to be a great experience, but being here today it is a little bit nerve-wrecking. I want it to be successful for them and I want people to enjoy it," said Marissa Goodman from Kentucky.

Some of the bands and artist that were announced on Friday were The National, Pussy Riot, and Big Red Machine, but festival organizers didn’t give everything away.

"I’m just excited to see who the and many more might be, I mean it could be anybody," said Jonathan Forsethe from Wisconsin.
