CVS installs drug collection boxes

(WKOW) – CVS Health debuted its first permanent, in-store drug collection boxes in Wisconsin.

It’s part of an effort to stop prescription drug abuse in the state, particularly opioid abuse.

"We have invested hundreds of millions of dollars to conduct nearly 2.8 million hours of training with out pharmacy teams over the past five years, to ensure that we are in compliance with federal and state controlled substance laws and regulations," said Tom Moriarty, Executive Vice President and General Counsel of CVS Health.

Boxes have been installed in Green Bay, Appleton, Barron, Eau Claire and Milwaukee.
