Country Fest campers share unique campsites

Cadott (WQOW) – Country Fest is on day three, but for it’s campers, some have been on the grounds since Sunday, and they made sure their set up was worth their stay.

Thousands of campers set up shop on the festival grounds, and each site came with a unique look. Some campers brought along games, fire pits, and tents. Others brought in homemade builds for their beverages.

"We’ve got a homemade bar that we have, and we’ve got a homemade ice chest cooler that keeps ice really cold for a long time," said Leslie Cater of Eau Claire. "We always add a few things every year, so I don’t know what it will be next year because you never know ahead of time."

Cater set up his campsite on Monday. It is equipped with a generator, awning, and of course a diverse liquor selection. Another group of campers rented out 11 campsites for over 40 family members and friends for their own campsite cul-de-sac.

"We’re fortunate because we buy extra sites which makes it fun because then we can do the huge circle," said Debbie LaCourse of Minnesota. "Otherwise you’re in rows and we didn’t want to do that. We wanted the circle to make it look like a big family; our own little community."

LaCourse said she has been going to Country Fest since 1999, and will continue with their campsite cul-de-sac tradition.

Country Fest is wrapping up its events Saturday, and a majority of campers will head out Sunday morning.
