Music fans flock to the fields of Cadott for Country Fest

Cadott (WQOW) – Country Fest is officially underway in Cadott, and thousands are expected to attend its 32nd year. 

News 18 was out on the fest grounds Thursday morning as the gates opened to the public. Officials said the turnout is already looking amazing.

Organizers of Country Fest said this year they’ve opened an additional campground to accommodate everyone. They said they haven’t had this many campers since 2009.

They also had the biggest turnout for their pre-party Wednesday night with 800 campers in place.

With the weather looking to stay favorable this weekend, officials said they’re excited for what they’re expecting to be a great event.

"Typically we expect about 20,000 people throughout the weekend, just seeing everybody out here though does look like we’re going to have a large turn out," said Abby Maliszewski, PR and community events coordinator for County Fest.

Maliszewski said Country Fest has plenty of security members and a special tip line in place to help make fest goers feel safe at all times.
