Eau Claire residents celebrate International Day of Yoga

Eau Claire (WQOW) – Poses were struck at Phoenix Park pavilion on Wednesday, as part of International Day of Yoga.

Hundreds laid down a mat for the event hosted by Latitude 44 Yoga Studio. It gave the more than 500 participants a chance to take in a free 45 minute class. Organizers said the goal of the event is to bring the community together to strengthen both body and mind.

"Which it’s not, or most of us, just that physical movement, but also helping one another doing meaningful things together," said Amy Erickson, owner of Latitude 44.

Besides a chance to stretch, there was also live music, face-painting and prize giveaways.
