New charges filed for man shot by Eau Claire police

Eau Claire (WQOW) – New charges were filed Monday for the man shot and injured by police in 2015.

Police said last Thursday, Tyler Holte fled from officers crossing the North Crossing on Jeffers Road dangerously fast when they tried to pull him over for running a stop sign. At the time, he was out on signature bond from a couple of different cases.

Holte was shot by police after a confrontation near the VFW on Starr Avenue in 2015.

Since that shooting, Holte has been charged with a number of crimes in western Wisconsin, including operating while intoxicated and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Monday, a judge set a $1,000 cash bond for Holte.
