Eau Claire students take sculpture tour

Eau Claire (WQOW) – Maybe you’ve gotten the chance to check out this year’s sculpture tour in downtown Eau Claire. Monday, students from Northwoods Elementary School had their opportunity.

About 70 fourth graders spent roughly three hours visiting sculptures as part of their fourth grade curriculum.

Students took iPads with them to take pictures of the sculptures for the photography portion of the class.

"The artists have a message that they want to give the students," said Northwoods teacher, Julie Schaller. "It might be in the title, it might be in what you see, and it’s just great to see those different messages that the students can get, and just enjoy aesthetics of the sculptures too."

Schaller said she’s been taking students on the sculpture tour for six years now.
