Hudson officer injured, squad car damaged in high speed chase

Hudson (WQOW) — A suspect wanted in burglary and theft cases in St. Croix County is in custody after a high speed chase with police in Hudson.

According to a release, officers tried to stop the stolen vehicle around 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday. Police said Cassidy J. Muecke, of Fredonia, attempted to flee from police, running through a number of stop signs.

Police said as the chase continued, Muecke drove through fields and yards before striking a tree on the 800 block of Highlander Trail.  Officers boxed in Muecke, who was quickly taken into custody.

Officials said a squad car was damaged during the chase and an officer was treated after receiving a cut on his forearm.

Formal charges against Muecke have yet to be filed.
