Visit Eau Claire launches new website and it’s all about food

Eau Claire(WQOW)– If you’re not sure where to eat tonight, Visit Eau Claire has you covered.

This week it launched a new website called "Taste of Eau Claire," a food guide for visitors and locals. Staff said dining is an important part of the traveling experience for almost every visitor.

They said so far, they’ve worked with two dozen local restaurants and photographers were hired to visit each participating restaurant and photograph their good eats.

"Culinary tourism is vital to the economy of Eau Claire. Last year, visitors spent $257 million in Eau Claire County, and twenty-six cents of that per dollar was spent on food and beverage, so we thought it was an important reason to have this website" said Ron Bower, the Sports Sales Manager for Visit Eau Claire.

Bower said they hope to have more restaurants participate and be profiled on the website.
