Eau Claire (WQOW) – After an elderly couple was scammed into paying a fraudster, a stranger stepped in to make it right.

Last week News 18 reported on an elderly couple who had received their Meals on Wheels deliveries, followed by a man claiming they owed money for the food. They paid the man and he left.

After hearing the story, someone reached out to police and asked if they could repay what the couple lost. That stranger paid back the money, and then some. Police said this stranger handed over this note and said “we are better than this in Eau Claire”.
