The Stormtracker 18 Weather team hosted its four and final Weather Academy of the school year at Meadowview Elementary in Eau Claire on April 8th.

Meteorologists Nick Grunseth, Matt Schaefer, and Justin Esterly visited the school to share their knowledge of weather and show some cool experiments. An assembly was held from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. in the school’s gymnasium for grades three, four, and five. From 4:15 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., an open house was held, where students, siblings, parents, grandparents, and other loved ones could enjoy a close-up view of activities. One special activity included participation in the weather “live shots” during the Live at 5 newscast on WQOW News 18.

Students and staff said they enjoyed Weather Academy and hope it returns soon! For more information about hosting a Weather Academy at your child’s school, contact Nick Grunseth (ngrunseth@wqow.com).
