Eau Claire (WQOW) — An art exhibit is celebrating its 40th year at L.E. Phillip’s Memorial Public Library in Eau Claire.

The Wisconsin ArtsWest 40 art exhibit opened on Sunday. ArtsWest 40 gives people an opportunity to submit different forms of art each year in January.

“You know there’s 3D pieces, there’s paintings, different types of media, so digital painting, digital artwork, different types of material like that,” said Michaela Weggen, reference services coordinator.

Weggen said that it’s fun to see the different works presented and how the community reacts to it. Prize winners are selected from the exhibits current 60 pieces and announced at the artist reception on April 11.

The exhibit is available for viewing through May 28 during regular library hours.
