Lake Hallie (WQOW) — At the Marc-On Shooting Range, anyone, whether they carry a gun or not, was able to take the Wisconsin Concealed-Carry class or a situation awareness class on Sunday.
No bullets were shot in either class, but instead the focus was learning how to be safe when it comes to handling guns.
Marc-On Shooting has been providing different kinds of training classes for the last three years. Dan Marcon, owner of the range and store, said people typically attend the classes that teach the legal limits of carrying, after already getting their Concealed-Carry license.
“Repercussions of carrying it in an illegal place, what happens in the aftermath, as far as if you do ever have to engage your firearm God forbid, and protect your life or your family’s life, what’s going to come out of it,” Marcon said. “It’s not like TV where in an hour you’re done, innocent, it’s going to change your life forever.”
Marcon also said that it’s important to always keep learning about firearm safety, because even if you don’t have a gun, you could be a victim of violence.
